    The Knights of Colombus is a charity-based Catholic Fraternity for men. Knights are dedicated to charity and the care of widows and children of departed brothers. Knights are dedicated to God, His Church, and Mother Mary. It began as an insurance program started by an oppressed group of Catholic gentlemen under the guidance. Father William J. Burke became the pastor of St. Columba Parish on , and during his pastorate, the Parish school building was constructed. The school was dedicated in – the Marian Year – and was staffed by the Sisters of Sts. Cyril and Methodius. With the addition of this school, St. Columba became a complete Parish.
